Forschungsprofil

Meine Forschungsinteressen liegen im Bereich der Evolutionsbiologie, Diversität und Biogeographie der Diptera, mit besonderem Schwerpunkt auf der Familie Sarcophagidae (Fleischfliegen). Dabei verfolge ich einen integrativen taxonomischen Ansatz, der morphologische Merkmale aller Lebensstadien und molekulare Methoden kombiniert. Meine Forschungen zur Fleischfliegen-Systematik umfassen die Weltfauna mit Schwerpunkt auf der Paläarktis und der Afrotropis. In aktuellen Projekten konzentriere ich mich auf die Taxonomie und Diversifizierung artenreicher Abstammungslinien der Gattung Sarcophaga, sowie Revisionen der europäischen und afrotropischen Faunen. Ich arbeite zusammen mit Bürgerwissenschaftlern als Organisator des britischen Sarcophagidae Recording Scheme.
