The ontogeny of teleosauroids (Crocodylomorpha: Thalattosuchia) and implications into their biology during the Toarcian Oceanic Anoxic Event (TOAE)
Ich arbeite an Körpergröße, Wachstum und Ontogenese bei jurassischen Teleosauriern. Meine Hauptziele sind: (1) die Untersuchung der Paläohistologie (das Studium biologischer Gewebe in Fossilien), um zu beurteilen, ob Teleosaurier ähnliche mikroanatomische Merkmale wie moderne Krokodile aufweisen;
(2) Bestimmung, ob Teleosaurier schnell oder langsam wuchsen; und (3) wie ihre Wachstumsrate durch das Toarcian Oceanic Anoxic Event
(eine Zeit großer klimatischer Umwälzungen) beeinflusst wurde. Ich werde modernste Dünnschnitt-, Computertomographie- und mikroanatomische Techniken anwenden,
um histologische Proben von Teleosauriern zu untersuchen, sowie ausgeklügelte statistische Software, um die Wachstumsraten von Teleosauriern für (1) die gesamte
Gruppe und (2) einzelne Arten zu berechnen und grafisch darzustellen. Der Großteil meiner Arbeit wird sich auf das Taxon Macrospondylus bollensis konzentrieren.
The taphonomy of Jurassic teleosauroids
Ich werde an der Taphonomie von Teleosauriern aus dem Jura arbeiten, mit besonderem Interesse an Brüchen/Exartikulationen der Kiefer und Hälse,
und auswerten, wie dies passieren könnte.
