Special exhibition "Wilde Alb"

Special exhibition

29/6/2023 – 5/11/2023

Schloss Rosenstein

Rushing waterfalls, sharp rocks and deep caves - in the heart of Baden-Württemberg lies one of the most beautiful and varied cultural landscapes in Germany: the Swabian Alb. As a refuge for many rare plants and animals, it is also a hotspot for biodiversity. Peregrine falcons gliding over rocks, rare orchids in the juniper heaths or colourful alpine longhorn beetles are just a few examples of the diverse flora and fauna of the southern German low mountain range.

The photographers from the Württemberg-Bavaria regional group of the Society for Nature Photography (GDT) spent more than three years travelling through the Swabian Alb. At all times of day and night and in all weathers, they captured the special features of this landscape with its animals and plants in breathtaking images. A selection of their best pictures from the "Wild Alb" photo project is presented in this travelling exhibition. The exhibition is accompanied by an illustrated book, which you can purchase in our shop.
