Research interests
My research interests are in the evolutionary biology, diversity and biogeography of Diptera, with a focus on the family Sarcophagidae (flesh flies). In my research, I combine morphological information from all life stages and molecular methods. My research on flesh fly systematics encompasses the World fauna, with an emphasis on the Palaearctic and Afrotropical regions. My current projects focus on the taxonomy and ecological diversification of species-rich lineages of the genus Sarcophaga, and on revisions of the European and Afrotropical faunas. I am engaged with citizen scientists in the UK as the lead organiser of the Sarcophagidae Recording Scheme.
