Research Interests
Ceraphronoidea (Hymenoptera) are a small superfamily of parasitoid wasps with a worldwide distribution. Only 35 species have been recorded from Germany so far. My research focuses on the diversity of the Ceraphronoidea in Germany within the GBOL III: Dark Taxa project. With my research, I aim to overcome the taxonomic obstacles caused by the tiny size and monotonous external appearance of these wasps and to make this hitherto neglected group accessible to science and a broader audience. In my integrative taxonomic approach, I combine morphological methods with molecular barcoding data, complemented by biogeography, phenology and ecology.
