Research interests

I investigate the processes that control taphonomic bias and soft-tissue preservation in the fossil record. I integrate field-based sampling, controlled experimental studies, and advanced quantitative approaches, including high-resolution imaging such as SRCL and µXRF (Synchrotron-Radiation Computed Laminography and Synchrotron micro-X-Ray Fluorescence) to assess how environmental and sedimentary factors affect the preservation of fossil soft tissue. My research aims to refine preservational interpretations of ancient ecosystems and contribute to broader questions at the interface of palaeobiology and sedimentary geology. My work involves highly interdisciplinary collaborations and the development of innovative methodologies to better interpret past biodiversity.

I am an Associate Editor for the community-driven, Diamond Open Access journal "Sedimentologika" and was an elected member of the Palaeontological Association's council as the first Early Careers Research Officer (2022-2025).
